Medical payments or personal injury protection coverage differs from bodily injury liability, in the way that instead of the driver being covered, drivers and passengers of the policy holders car are also covered. This coverage under Birmingham motor vehicle insurance is one of the best. In the event that something happens, PIP can cover many scenarios that can occur in the event of an accident.  PIP can cover medical bills, possible lost wages due to the injured person unable to work and possibly even funeral costs.

E.g.: A group of friends are driving out for a night out on the town. You meet in accident and everyone in the car is injured. Due to the injuries some people are out of work for a few months. PIP would cover the medical expenses of all those injured in the accident, and it will possibly cover the wages of the people who were injured and unable to work.

Collision coverage in Birmingham car insurance will pay for the cost, repair or replacement of the policy holders car due to a collision with another car, object or because it flipped over. No matter who is at fault the car is covered. Collision coverage usually requires the policy holder to pay a deductible when a claim is made.
In this  form of coverage a deductible has  to be made. A deductible is an out of pocket expense that the policy holder had to pay to the insurance company, before they are reimbursed. The higher you set your deductible the lower the cost of your insurance policy. If you are at fault then the insurance company will pay for the cost to repair your car, minus the deductible. If you are not at fault, you will be reimbursed the deductible if the insurance company successfully gets the money from the other party’s insurance company.

E.g.: you are driving and someone crashes into you. Then the insurance company will then pay for the damage to your vehicle.
E.g. (Deductible): Say you are driving and you crash into another car. With collision coverage you set your deductible at $800. If the cost to repair the car is $1500 then you will pay out of pocket $800. The insurance company will then pay the $700.
